PSYCHOTHERAPY- IIG

Psychological Recovery Camps

With the method of the authorship of IEP Colombia, Intensive Integrative Group Psychotherapy. “Happy Children Camp” (program for pre-adolescents and program for children under 8 years old with their guardians) and “Campamento Viaje del Héroe” (program for adolescents from 13 to 16 years old and program for young people from 17 to 22 years old).

Camps aimed at children and adolescents in conditions of stress and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder -PTSD- due to the impact of violence (sexual, social suffering, others). Camp format for 8 days, in a country site after complying with all regulations with families and competent authorities. The intervention is performed using a multicomponent approach:

  1. Reprocessing and Desensitization therapy through Eye Movement - EMDR Therapy - created by Dr. Francine Shapiro (Shapiro, 2001) and recommended by the World Health Organization for the treatment of trauma, adverse life experiences or psychological stressors . For group therapies, the Group and Integrative Protocol with EMDR (Integrative Group Treatment Protocol, EMDR-IGTP) created by Dr. Ignacio Jarero and the Group Protocol for the Treatment of Traumatic Episodes with EMDR (EMDR Group Traumatic Episode Protocol, EMDR G-TEP) created by Dr. Elan Shapiro.

  2. Practices with a psycho-neuro-biological approach and the human being as a whole (mind, brain, interpersonal relationships): The butterfly hug (originated and developed by Lucina Artigas (founder of the Mexican Association for Mental Assistance in Crisis), the Cardiac Coherence (“heart-brain system”), dance, therapeutic massages, toning of the vagus nerve, healing of early imprints,  integration of archaic reflexes, release of body stress, installation of internal psychological resources , harmonic body movements, psycho-education about the brain and dissociated parts, walks, etc.

  3. Artistic activities are carried out as artistic mediation: The artists accompany the children/adolescents and their tutors in a creation process in such a way that their journey from work to work undergoes a process of transformation of themselves.

  4. Meditation practice in the modalities:

4.1 or with exercises that lead each of the participants to come into authentic contact with their body, their nature internally, his family and the world.

This practice makes possible the direct experience of the body, the formation of new positive neural circuits and the development of an attitude of compassion towards oneself and towards others. Children, adolescents are trained with the complete program of Mindfulness, AMT method (Academy for Mindful Teaching of Eline Snel, and adults (tutors of the children) are trained with the complete program of Stress Reduction Based on Mindfulness (REBAP) by Jon Kabat Zinn.

  1. Practices for Generous Love, Joy and Compassion. It seeks to sensitize children to a deep vision of themselves until they manage to contact love for themselves and joy, develop love and compassion for themselves and others. We use meditation exercises from:

  • Thich Naht Hanh. teachings about love

  • William Van Gordon, Edo Shonin and Javier Campayo. The Attentive Warrior.

  • Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche. The joy of living

SEXUAL VIOLENCE PREVENTION PROGRAMS BASED ON FULL ATTENTION, PVSBAP.

The objective of this program is for children to develop in a harmonious and playful way strategies to deal with different situations of sexual violence that they may encounter.

  • Taking advantage of the fact that the practice of Mindfulness is very simple, it goes through the body a lot (children understand body language perfectly), and it is a prevention tool to help children and adolescents cope with stress, dispersion , anxiety and calm down, our program is based on this practice.

  • Through this program, children adopt behaviors to prevent and protect themselves from aggressors, and not become victims due to lack of knowledge, adequate and internalized information, including their families.

  • In addition to the complete program of Full Attention, Artistic Interventions with corporal expression and play are made, integrating exercises on respect for sexuality and the prevention of sexual violence.
